🎒 Attention parents and educators! #AmericasFieldTrip contest is live and offering students a ticket to America’s heart and history. Students in grades 3-12 can submit artwork, essays, and videos to express their perspectives on America’s past and future ahead of our nation’s 250th anniversary. Elementary, middle, and high school students can find themselves on a candlelight tour at Fort Point Golden Gate National Park, uncovering stories of the West Coast’s past, accessing the “vault” at the US National Archives, or immersing in history as a Patriot spy at the American Village. IMLS encourages students and educators across America to participate in this opportunity to shape America’s future. https://lnkd.in/eE6BVeGN America250

The Atomic Legacy Preservation Network (ALPN) is forging connections between museums, historical centers, legacy sites, interpretive centers, and other institutions across the country to tell the story of the Manhattan Project, subsequent nuclear weapons production, and the enduring legacy of these efforts. ALPN’s mission is rooted in deepening public understanding of such an important part of American history and highlighting the impact communities nationwide have had in advancing nuclear innovation from the inception of the Manhattan Project to the present day. Check out their recent webinar, co-hosted with IMLS Deputy Director Laura Huerta Migus, to explore how ALPN creates and leverages partnerships across the country between diverse institutions, while also forging relationships with these institutions and the federal government. https://lnkd.in/epXqHuZU
